A Birthday Carnival Extravaganza!!

Jack's second birthday was so much fun and we were so excited to celebrate with great family and sweet friends!! It was originally supposed to be at our new house, but that didn't work out. We moved the party to my parents' house next door and that made everything much less stressful for everyone (well, except my parents maybe, but they're troopers - real "go with the flow" people. I don't know where I came from:).

We decided to have a carnival birthday and by "we" I mean me. When I told Jack that his cake was going to have clowns on it, he said "Not big trucks?" So, I'm sure if he had had a vote, we would have had a semi in the yard, but he didn't get one this year, so the carnival was ON! For some reason I had the party at 11:00 which is exactly the time Jack naps every day at daycare (I won't mention that Alabama's A-Day game was televised at 2:00 that afternoon b/c it had nothing to do with the time of the party:). Needless to say, the first hour was pretty tough for my little man. All the other children seemed to enjoy the party very much, though!
Thanks to my wonderful hubby, we had this cute photo board. Don't Piper and Alden make the cutest lion tamers you've ever seen?! Most of the kids got their picture made like this, but I just can't post them all... there were a lot of kids there:) It actually was just the kids from church in Jack's Sunday School class and then some family and my prayer partner's kids, but that ended up being a lot of kids. That just made it more fun though!!
Can't have a carnival without some good cotton candy!
Those Easter chicks and ducks came in handy for a neat little petting zoo... We're still amazed they survived the day!
We had some Pick Up Ducks that didn't really float that well (ha) and the kids "prizes" were in these cute popcorn boxes for them to take home and enjoy!
Aunt Dee Dee painted Gabe's face and he played the clown for us.
Poor John Parker... he didn't even get to enjoy the party. We just put him right to work on the tractor when he got here!
Sweet Emery!
I wish I had this kind of carefree abandon. Caroline is really enjoying herself!! This pony was a big hit for a while, but then they finally decided to give these a try...
Thanks to Tammy Holt and her family for setting this up for us! The kids really enjoyed the pony carousel!
Han and Joel took a ride... Then we wouldn't let them get off b/c that's the only way we finally got Jack to ride. He saw that Han was riding and he wanted to ride right behind her!

Finally, a SMILE!!

He wasn't in the best mood, but he came around when it was time to open the gifts!!

He's a serious rider!! (I love this expression:)
Even though Jack wasn't at his best, the party was a success. We had lots of fun with all our friends. Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate!! I hate I don't have a picture of all the kids and everyone else that was there. I'm hoping to get some more and I'll post them later. I can't believe I didn't take a group pic, but we were running on fumes by that time!
We had just moved all our stuff into the house a few days before.... and that's my next post!!

Easter - A Little Late...

So, the Foreman family has been on "GO" for about two weeks now, but we have enjoyed every minute of it. We have moved into the house (THANK THE LORD!!), had a birthday party, and celebrated Easter!

Jack was actually sick throughout Easter weekend so he missed the Easter Party at church and Easter Sunday. In spite of that, we were able to talk about the meaning of Easter with him and it was really neat to see him have some understanding of the awesomeness of that day! We also got the great idea of resurrection eggs from Shonna and he really enjoyed those a lot too.

I've decided to post about Easter first even though Jack didn't actually get to wear his outfit until yesterday. It worked out ok because he went up for his birthday yesterday at church and didn't he look handsome?!

If you look behind Jack and me in this picture, you will see grass. That's MY yard - it's not really pretty grass right now, but it's not dirt:)

Ben actually wore a suit last week because he did get to go to church on Easter, but he looks pretty handsome in this too! It's hard to make the man look bad:)

Jack wasn't really into taking a family picture, so this is the best we could do!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. I was really disappointed to miss Easter Sunday b/c that's normally my favorite service of the year. The season became more serious to me at times this year too, b/c the reality of the crucifixion was more real to me than ever before. But that just made Sunday more amazing!! I hope the power of Jesus' resurrection was very real to each of you well!

Here's a sneak peek of my next post. The carnival birthday bash...

Happy Birthday (Times Two)

This little guy turned two years old today! I'm amazed at how he's changed my life and the joy Ben and I recieve from this blessing!! Happy Birthday to Jack!!

Jack and Aunt Dee Dee have had a very special bond from day one - they share the same birthday. Happy Birthday to Aunt Dee from the Foremans!! We love you! Thanks for being one of my very favorite people!!!

Easter - A Little Early...

After reading Shonna's earlier post, I have decided to "Do Easter Differently" and on Easter Sunday, we're going to have resurrection eggs and (hopefully) Miss Pattycake's Eggstravaganza. But, tonight, we had an early celebration. There is a LONG story behind this that I won't bore you with, but this is what the Easter Bunny brought to Jack tonight.

Yep, two baby ducks and two baby chicks. You should all pray for these little critters b/c we have a bad history with keeping animals alive (especially when they are this little:)

Jack really enjoyed picking them up and transferring them to their basket. You can imagine how much they all loved it!!

What fun - now I have no idea what we're going to do with them all when they grow. Dr. Jones says that the ducks will imprint and follow Jack around like a puppy, so we may keep one of those around:)

He also really enjoyed eating his white chocolate duck!! BTW, some of his loot came from Uncle Jay Jay and Aunt Dee Dee - thanks bunches!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

First, Steven came and painted my front door like this...

Then, Brian came and put this is my kitchen (minus the grout right now)....

And then Steven came and painted this in Jack's room...

And I LOVE IT ALL!!
