Our Own Little "Iron Bowl Preview"

Well, this is a big day for our family!! We're excited about the Iron Bowl. Unfortunately, Ben is watching the game in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico so I'm going to paint him a little word picture here of how we're preparing for the game.

Let me start with the disclosure that we are all Christians and don't believe in superstition, BUT we do have some "traditions" that we like to continue before all Bama games. So, I have on my undefeated shirt (2-0), Jack has on his undefeated scrubs (3-0), Jay and Carrie are both wearing shirts that are 1-0 (and yes, we are making Carrie wear a Bama shirt!) Jon (Jason's brother) is coming over b/c we are making him since he came for the LSU game. I am wearing my undefeated bracelet that is 11-0. By the way, that bracelet fell off my hand in the middle of the bookstore in Tuscaloosa at the Miss St. game. You should have seen Ben and I on our hands and knees looking for that thing while that store was FULL!! Ben found some lady standing on it and almost knocked her down to get it back! LOL We're going to Jay's to watch the game since they have never lost on his TV.

We are expecting you to be wearing your undefeated hat, Ben!! I think we're gameday ready and I hope the team is too!! Big day !! Can't wait!!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Our House - Soon to Be Our "Home"

As most of you know, Ben and I are in the process of building a house. We have heard horror stories about this experience, but actually, we have yet to fight at all! In the name of full disclosure, I must say that he has let me pick everything out so there's not really been much to fight about, but.... still, no fights is no fights. Honestly, I married an amazingly laid back and relaxed guy which goes really well with my high maintainence personality. LOL Ben will get his say when we get to the electronics!! That's his baby.

Julie had suggested that I post pictures of the house in progress. These are actually a few weeks old. There are shingles and brick now so I'll update soon. We are supposed to be in sometime in Janaury. We'll see... I can't wait. We are staying in between my parents house and the family's place at Point A and we feel very out of sorts!! It is actually bothering me the most. I'm very obsessive about having everything in place and that is just impossible right now!! Jack is LOVING the arrangement. Anyway, it will come soon I suppose. My Uncle Ronnie and cousin Chris Curry are building it. Here is what we've got so far!

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!! We're a little sad here b/c Ben is at work again, but we're still looking forward to family and GOOD FOOD!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay, So Maybe It IS Time...

Well, it is an ongoing battle in our family about cutting Jack's hair. I am the lone one holding out. Forturnately, Ben is a little on my side, but I think all the grandparents and everyone else are on the cutting bandwagon. Yesterday, I got these pictures and even I had to say... Maybe it is time... You can see what I mean!

So, then I thought I would try something else. This next picture FULLY convinced my husband it was time!! LOL

It is still not fully decided b/c I would like for the front to catch up to the back, but we'll see how much longer I can hold out! By the way, Jack is very against cutting his hair as well. He is on Mommy's side ALL THE WAY! When asks if he wants to cute his hair, he clearly says "No!" Oh well, either way, long hair or short, one thing is always true for Jack.....

Right, Life is GOOD!! Have a great weekend everyone!

Parent's Night Out

Ben and I went to the Al v. Miss St. game this weekend and this time, we left Jack in the wonderful care of all the grandparents. We were able to go to the game with our friends, Ben and Bridgette, and they got ENGAGED!! It was really exciting and a special day for them. It was really COLD, but totally worth it b/c Bama won (11-0). Fun times and sometimes you just have to leave the baby at home! LOL
After the BIG moment. Aren't they sweet?!
IT WAS COLD!!!

She's the Best!!

We went to Pensacola Beach today to get some pictures taken by our photographer, Patsy Brown. She's been shooting our pictures since our wedding and we see her at least twice a year, so she's just part of the family now. Jack's future wife does not yet understand the gift she is getting with this AMAZING photogrpher already being part of the whole wedding deal!! Patsy's crazy in the most wonderful ways and we just love getting to see her. Then, what she can do with a camera is UNREAL!! I tell her thanks all the time for making my kid look so good!! Anyway, here are the few that we've seen so far - thought I would share them. We can't wait to see the rest!! Love you, Patsy!

Daddy's Home!!

Well, Ben finally made it home. Of course, this is something that we go through every two weeks. Say goodbye..then welcome home...then goodbye.. and the cycle continues.... But it works for our family and we really enjoy our homecomings!! So, here are a few pics I took of Ben and Jack enjoying each other again. We are REALLY happy to have Daddy home!!

Daddy just knows how to have FUN!!

Gameday!!

Well, it's a big one today. Jack and I went out with our church delivering gift bags to invite people to revival today. Sharon went with us - we just love her and her sweet spirit!! Anyway, Jack told people God Bless You and Roll Tide. We're excited about the BIG GAME today. I'm putting some pics of Jack on here (especially for Daddy). He's wearing his AL tatoo that Papa Ben and Gramme got for us (thanks bunches). We're going to try REALLY hard to pull them through one more time!!
Don't DARE say we won't win or you get THIS LOOK!!

Party! Party! Party!

We had a Sunday School party at church tonight to meet and greet the couple that are providng the music for our revival starting on Sunday. It was a fun time for all. I didn't really get to meet and greet that much b/c Jack didn't want to get down and play a lot. He's not so big on crowds right now and is going through a really clingy stage right now. (I at one time thought that might be cute and sweet, but it's really no fun at all!!) Anyway, nobody was in the mood for pictures but I did get a few of him and Caroline that I thought I would put on here. Even when they're not in the mood, these two are cute enough to make my blog ANY DAY!!

I'm sharing this blog with you, Shonna!!

See, not giving mom even a second to take a decent picture!!
Are these not some expressions? We loved Caroline's cute outfit and then she's always got that precious face to go with it!! Always the best accessory!
Poor Caroline! This was after my "sweet" son pulled her hair while they were hugging! (Another stage we're going through!) She's still smiling, though!

Election Day

Well, it's finally here. Jack and I went and voted this morning before daycare and work. Ben had already voted absentee b/c he's at work right now. Anyway, it may not go our way but my kid and I are doing our part!! He's campaigning like crazy at GA today - HA HA! He's been saying "No Obama" for months now. It may say something about my parenting that some of my child's best words are McCain, Palin, and Coach Saban! But we say Jesus a lot too, so maybe it's not TOO bad!! Have a great election day!

How's This for Laughter...

Here are some fun pictures of Jack. He was watching something on the computer (I think Mickey Mouse - Big Suprise!) and he thought it was TOO funny. I think these pictures are TOO funny! Wouldn't it be great to have this kind of life? Just fun and games all the time.

Pictures for Daddy

Well, I told Ben that I would let him know what we did on our Saturday while he is at work, so here are a few goofy pics from our day at home...

First, we watched "Hot Dog Dig Dog" (what my child calls the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) about 100 times on YouTube and here we are waving goodbye to the clubhouse as it disappears. How Sad!!

Then, we acted a little silly and TRIED to take a nap, but that didn't go too well.

"I'm trying to sleep, Daddy, REALLY, but you know how hard it is on football Saturday!!"

Then, waking up from a nap that Jack FINALLY took!
There were a few worrisome moments, but we pulled them through, Daddy! ROLL TIDE! 9-0
We Love You, Daddy!!
